Environmental Policy
Pure are keen to do assist in protecting the environment and community whilst supporting the local economy. At the heart of our beliefs is the desire to positively contribute towards the social, environmental, health and economic benefits of organic food production and distribution by developing local food links:
We have developed a policy that will enable us to work towards a more sustainable environment:-
- To provide access to fresh, less processed and affordable organic food
- Work in strict accordance with the principles of organic food processing
- Eliminate any chemical interference in the products used
- Source local suppliers to support the local economy and reduce pollution from food transport
- Minimise our own food transport pollution by only delivering to the local area
- Avoid any unnecessary food packaging
- Promote recycling and the use of recycled materials throughout our manufacturing and sales processes
- Further supporting the ethos of recycling by offering free collection of used containers during deliveries
- Minimise waste by focussing on using a made-to-order process thus keeping stock levels to a minimum
- Conserve resources by preparing all organic purees, organic meals and organic desserts in smaller batches rather than through mass production methods
Welsh Language Policy:
The economic benefits of the Welsh language are also increasingly being recognised, both by employers and by employees.
Throughout Wales more and more employers - in the public, private and voluntary sectors - in response to the growing expectations of their customers, are becoming aware of the benefits of using the language, such as:
- Improving the quality of customer service
- Attracting new customers
- Increasing customer loyalty
- Harnessing goodwill at relatively low cost
- Gaining a marketing edge over competitors
- Enhancing public relations efforts
Pure will adopt a Welsh Language Policy to promote the Welsh origins of the company in the following areas of communication:-
Corporate Identity:
Pure will adopt a bilingual corporate identity for the company name and logo. This will be incorporated on all stationary, information used on promotional materials and goods, business cards, displays, publications, signs, vehicles and work wear.
Unfortunately, due to the limited space available on the container labels, and the legislation on the content of label, we will not be able to offer bi-lingual labelling.
Written Communication:
Customers and suppliers are welcome to correspond in Welsh if they prefer to do so. Writing to us in Welsh will not of itself lead to an undue delay in replying. The reply will be in the same language as the original correspondence, and correspondence initiated following face-to-face or telephone communication in Welsh will also be in Welsh, unless agreed otherwise.
Where we are aware that an individual, group or organisation prefers to receive correspondence in Welsh, it will be sent in Welsh.
Telephone Communication:
Customers and suppliers are welcome to telephone Pure in Welsh if they prefer to do so. All persons calling will be greeted bilingually. If a caller replies in Welsh to the initial greeting we will try deal with the enquiry. If unable to do so, the enquiry will be given the option of:-
- Receiving a call-back later from a Welsh speaker or
- Continuing the conversation in English
Advertising and Publicity Material
The form of advertising and publicity in Wales will respect the principle of equality and will be appropriate to the target audience. Press releases to the Welsh language press will be in Welsh.
